New Datacenter Automation Suite from SWsoft Speeds Virtual Resource Deployment

Posted by admin | Virtual Servers | Thursday 30 December 2010 12:15 am

HERNDON, VA (PRWEB) April 5, 2006

Provisioning and managing virtual datacenters is now easily automated with the release of the SWsoft Datacenter Automation Suite. This comprehensive web-based solution also helps IT managers expediently handle department user requests for server space to accommodate new applications and users on virtual servers.

The Datacenter Automation Suite software addresses requirements for IT infrastructures that adapt quickly to user needs. It helps automate the process of assigning IT resources and also provides the capability to assess costs according to usage. This is important because it is common for data center budgets to be allocated within an enterprise based on usage.

“This latest addition to our set of virtualization management tools and templates is the cornerstone to a truly adaptive infrastructure,” said Serguei Beloussov, CEO, SWsoft. “Automation will become an increasing piece of the core differentiation between virtualization technologies. SWsoft, with Virtuozzo and now the Datacenter Automation Suite, offers the most advanced tools for automating, monitoring and managing virtual environments.”

Create Servers to Meet Workload Demand – On the Fly

The new Datacenter Automation Suite enables departments to order services from a secure web-based console and have them instantly provisioned from a shared pool of available resources — simplifying and automating the datacenter workflow. After delivery, administrators use a web-based portal that allows departments and end users to configure and maintain these services. All resources and applications can be tracked to individual departments and users, so costs can be assigned to the appropriate business unit. The Datacenter Automation Suite can be easily extended through a flexible API.

The new automation suite is used with SWsoft’s leading operating system virtualization product, Virtuozzo, which gives IT administrators the flexibility to dynamically create virtual environments. It reduces the need to add physical servers and improves utilization of existing servers.

Virtuozzo software allows a single Windows or Linux physical server to be provisioned into multiple, isolated and secure virtual environments. The virtual environments perform and execute as independent servers with their own memory, I/O, configuration files, users and applications.

Availability

The Datacenter Automation Suite is now available worldwide. More information is available at www.virtuozzo.com/products/das.

New Virtual Private Servers From EstHost are Affordable and Flexible

Posted by admin | Virtual Servers | Thursday 11 November 2010 8:10 pm

Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) May 16, 2007

EstHost welcomes customers to check out its new line of virtual private servers (VPS, or VDS) on Virtuozzo platform. VPS means a fully independent, virtualized, software-based server environment created on a single physical server. VPS enables users to fully customize their virtual server environments without having to pay for the entire server.

When a webmaster starts lacking the features of standard virtual hosting service, time comes to consider more serious options. But what if buying or renting a whole physical server is not yet reasonable? The answer comes from EstHost (http://www.esthost.com) as its VPS (Virtual Private Server) technology, created on the Virtuozzo platform. A single physical server can host several virtual machines which act independently, with their own OS copies, software and settings. The resources of the physical computer are distributed in such a way to ensure all the independent virtual servers remain stable.

VPS offers a number of advantages to customers with increased hosting needs. A VPS gets a guaranteed amount of RAM, CPU time and other resources. The customer gets a superuser-level access to the virtual server, which means they can install any software and libraries, tweak the OS, adjust any parameters, etc.

All EstHost servers, which are used as platforms for VPS service, are equipped with dual CPUs and RAID. Virtuozzo platform is used to build the virtual servers. Currently, customers can choose between Fedora Core 4 and Centos 4, more operating systems to be offered soon. For a minor extra payment of $ 10 EstHost will install OpenVPN on a newly registered VPS. Learn more about the prices and place your VPS order at the Esthost’s website (http://esthost.com/vds.php). Just like with any other EstHost products, customers get flawlessly reliable service and competent technical support.

How do I learn how to design a website from scratch?

Posted by admin | Best Hosting | Wednesday 25 August 2010 8:26 am

Question by memphis0013: How do I learn how to design a website from scratch?
I would like to be able to design a website basically from scratch. Where do I begin? Can I become an expert with DreamWeaver or FrontPage, or is there more to it than just that? I am a beginner who is looking to learn everything about designing, hosting, and managing websites.

Any information to get me started on the right track is appreciated.

There are numerous tutorials on the Internet to choose from. Are you a visual learner? HTML is the universal language of the Internet. Also, CSS (cascading Style Sheets) are starting to take over as the number one way to format web pages. I’d go to www.w3schools.com and walk through their tutorials first. Dreamweaver is the best edting platform in the world right now. Don’t use Front Page as it brings a lot of uneccessary baggage (code) to a site.

Question by dkeachie: How do I get to manage my domains and hosting at Yahoo ? It has totally disappeared from My Yahoo home page.?
It’s almost as if Yahoo doesn’t want me to be able to use what I paid them for in the first place. Also, I set it to check my password ONCE a day. It checks every 8 screeens or every 15 minutes, whichevr comes first.

Is it worth doing MS in Computer Science from University of Southern California?

Posted by admin | Best Hosting | Sunday 27 June 2010 2:17 pm

Question by Nadeem S: Is it worth doing MS in Computer Science from University of Southern California?
I have currently 3 years of Industry experience and currently working as a contractor for Managed Web hosting company.
I gave my GRE this year. Got calls from University of Southern California Arizona State university(MS in Computer Studies) and Oregon State university.
Now my doubt is which university should I join, I am inclined toward joining USC because of its being high ranked. However I just wanted to ask whether its high fees is worth it or not?

USC is way better than the other two, if you’re going to go to school it’s def the one you want to go to. ASU isn’t that great and I don’t know much about Oregon, but live in LA when you have the chance! haha
