Question by Nadeem S: Is it worth doing MS in Computer Science from University of Southern California?
I have currently 3 years of Industry experience and currently working as a contractor for Managed Web hosting company.
I gave my GRE this year. Got calls from University of Southern California Arizona State university(MS in Computer Studies) and Oregon State university.
Now my doubt is which university should I join, I am inclined toward joining USC because of its being high ranked. However I just wanted to ask whether its high fees is worth it or not?

USC is way better than the other two, if you’re going to go to school it’s def the one you want to go to. ASU isn’t that great and I don’t know much about Oregon, but live in LA when you have the chance! haha

What type of software packages are available to start and manage a file hosting site such as MediaFire? I have seen the term Scripts mentioned but not sure what that means. Are there any forums or blogs that discuss such software or scripts?

Question by Jay: I’m looking for a company that offers dedicated managed servers in the us, asia, and europe & can mirror them.
Our company has a worldwide presence and we offer 26 different versions of our website all based from our single server in california. Our customers in Asia and Europe say our website is too slow for them. So we would like to find a way to set up our main server in the us, and then mirror it to asia and europe. Ideally we would like to find a managed hosting solution that can handle the coordination as well as server maintenance, so we can spend our efforts on the website itself. Alas, I can’t find any hosting companies that seem to offer hosting in a variety of countries and we were hoping to avoid having to work with 3 seperate companies in different parts of the world due to the added risks.

Question by Lovey: I want to create multiple sites on a specific theme and want to host them with different hosting service.?
however i dont want that anybody whether an individual or search engine spider that all the sites are owned by one person thats me. can you please suggest me as to how i can categorize different sites to host on different server? for example i want to make 50 sites, out of which 20 will be very content rich and informative, 20 will have links with similar sites and remaining 10 will have copied articles, back links, directory links etc. if google or yahoo find that i am the owner of the last 10 category of site, they will ban all 50 sites. i want them to be safe and secure. can anyone suggest me a way to manage multiple IPs/hosting companies. It doesn’t matter if they are all hosted at the same hosting company. Hosting companies have so many sites they couldn’t possibly link them. What you need to do is get private registrations so that none of your information is displayed in the who-is lookup. You can do this at http://www.dakotawebhosting.com

There are about 70 of us in total, and I’m hoping to bring as many people as possible. Last year’s organizer only managed 15, and that might be because we are a bunch of nerds who also happen to be homebodies. Any tips on making the get-together seem more appealing?

Well, you need to get as many people involved in the planning as possible. The more people hear about the BBQ, the more they will be interested in coming, so be sure to tell everyone. Make flyers or posters if the school allows it and post them in the school. If you’re excited about it and act like it, it will make them want to show up. Ask for the other students’ ideas about what makes a fun party. Have a Who Wants To Be A Millionaire type game with questions about your school or your community. I find that the Honor Society kids at our school are very competitive so a trivia kind of game with small prizes or even certificates could bring a lot of people out. Put someone in charge of entertainment or games, put someone in charge of main dishes, side dishes, drinks and desserts and follow up with them to make sure they have enough people bringing things. If the school or your honor society pay the bill for it, still ask people to bring things and reimburse them. Do a survey asking what type of music to play and then provide a mix of the top types of music. You don’t have to do all of those things of course, but find ways to get the entire group involved. As you delegate more things to more people, your credibility as a leader and organizer grows and more people will want to be there. I hope that helps!

How about Cash for Clunkers? The people getting the cars I guess are happy about using their own and tax payers money to get new cars for their old ones. But, the car dealerships aren’t too happy with the government because they are not getting their money from the government. The credit the car buyers got came out of the car dealers pockets and they aren’t getting their money back very fast.

If the government can’t fore see the problems that has arised from this program how is the world will they get it right with heath care? The answer is, They Can’t.
